I’ve been watching YouTube since I can remember. I think I was 11 or 12 when I edited and uploaded my first video. I remember emailing it to my family, I was so proud. The video is still on YouTube and sometimes I pull it up as it makes me smile every time I watch it. It was a funny animal video. If only someone told me then that I would be making money doing the same thing, only 12 years later 🤣 

If you also have been on YouTube for a while, you know the famous Casey Neistat’s Nike commercial. If not, watch it here. It’s a classic.

I bet you didn’t know this yet: This wasn’t the first video Casey made about Nike. He told in this podcast that he had made countless Nike “commercials” without Nike knowing anything about it.

He would advertise with it though, and tell people: Look at this commercial I made for Nike!

It was not a lie, he did make every commercial for Nike. Nike just didn’t know it ;) But he got a lot of jobs by doing this!

And eventually even managed to collaborate with his dream brand, Nike.

I think all creators can learn from this. You don’t need permission to make an advertisement for a brand, and use it in your own portfolio. Make your videos better every time, until the brand can’t say no. Casey showed us that with persistence, you can make the deals of your dreams come true.

Currently we are working hard on upgrading our servers. As you may have noticed, sometimes it takes a while to load / upload a video. We want your videos to be in high quality, but also load fast! We implement new features every month. Currently we have an invoice generator on the stove… But we would LOVE to hear your ideas about where our platform should go. Personally I have been challenging myself by doing some UGC video’s about software / digital tools that I come across the web. Just like the one I shared below. 👇️ 

I made 3 videos as examples and added them to my portfolio. I have already found one brand who would like me to make a video for them. The brand is Foureditors, they are currently planning their deals for Q1 so feel free to also try and get a deal with them! I just sent them a DM on Instagram and continued via email.

Let’s be fair: How many times do you go through your screenshots folder? Chances are you have a goldmine of inspiration that you just won’t go through because you won’t remember what you’ve screenshotted. I feel you, I’ve been there 😆
