What's your RATE?
Capture & Create Newsletter

So you’ve worked hard,
and now you have your creator business all set up.
Portfolio ✅
Social media presence ✅
Right on track with your pitching schedule ✅
You’ve even sent a pitch to one of your dream brands ✅
…and you hoped it, but never thought it would happen.
Your dream brand RESPONDS!
They’re telling you they love your content, and would love to work with you.
But now they ask you what your rate is….
You don’t want to scare away the brand with a high rate…
But you also don’t want to look unprofessional and miss out on potential earnings.
Here is some tips on how to set your project rate.
Do your research
Chances are that the brand is listed on FYPM.vip
It’s ALWAYS worth it to check if there are some reviews on the brand here.
These reviews often give you valuable information.
Note: Check if the review is recent or not. Some reviews are from a few years back and might not be very relevant anymore.
If you spend a little bit of time browsing this website, you’ll find out:
Brands are NOT paying creators equally, or according to their follower counts or engagement rates.
Brands are paying creators based on their presented value-equation. And of course, their negotiation skills.
If you can speak to why you can help the brand achieve it’s goals, you’re a lot more valuable then someone who “just makes videos”.
Start your negotiation high
Dare to start your negotiation with a high rate. Brands will probably not accept your first offer right away. And if they do, you know it’s too low…
So get those numbers up and try to find the sweet spot for both you and the brand.
Tip: Ask a lot of questions to the brand about understanding the campaign, their goals, their successes and struggles, BEFORE you bring up your rate. This will bring up your value as a creator.
Apply the 13% rule
It’s as simple as it sounds. If brands are willing to pay you $750 dollars for a collaboration, they’re also willing to pay you $847.50. Add 13% to your existing rate, and you’ll have no problem landing your deals.
I know it almost sounds too good to be true, but I’ve noticed it actually works. It’s also a good way to maximize your rates in small steps on a consistent basis.
Creator Inspiration
“If you make something, and everybody loves it. You’re doing it wrong. The best work divides the audience. The best work is when people hate it, and people love it.” Rick Rubin
If you like the way Rick Rubin speaks, I’d recommend to look up his name on Youtube. He attends podcasts quite regularly.
Also I can really recommend his book:
Your reminder to keep at it:
I've been posting since july 2023 and the channel is now really taking off🚀
Super grateful for this, and feeling very motivated to take the project to the next level
